Drainage Composites
A drainage composite is a prefabricated product consisting of a plastic three-dimensional core that is bonded to non-woven geotextile fabric. It provides a cost-efficient alternative to traditional gravel and perforated pipe subsurface drains. It also helps relieve hydrostatic pressure buildup against foundation walls and retaining walls.
The drainage composite is laid over the completed waterproofing system and taped or adhered at all fabric overlaps. It is then backfilled with washed concrete sand.
HYDRODUCT(r) 660
Drainage composites are designed to replace traditional aggregate or gravel based drainage systems within construction. They comprise a plastic drainage core layer (a mat, net or moulded element) laminated to one or more geotextile layers that provide filtering, separation and protection functions. Maccaferri’s drainage geocomposites are prefabricated, eliminating the need to source and transport aggregates. They can be installed in narrow trenches and do not require additional concrete or other materials to support them. They can also help reduce the time and cost of construction by minimizing the need for specialised labour and installation tools.
HYDRODUCT 660 is an excellent choice for green roofs as it shields composite drainage material the growth medium from water and root penetration while collecting and deflecting unwanted groundwater and directing it to drainage outlets. It is compatible with all Bituthene waterproofing membranes in vertical applications and is ideal for foundation walls, retaining walls, bridge abutments and tunnels.
A high strength, nonwoven geotextile maintains permeability and protects the drainage composite from job site damage prior to and during the placement of the overburden. Its low creep allows it to withstand lateral stresses and resists clogging with soil particles. It drains 17 gallons per minute per foot of width, reducing hydrostatic pressure and enhancing waterproofing. It is secured to the underlying structure with PREPRUFE detail tape in a shingle-like formation. It should be covered promptly to prevent sun exposure and motor vehicles from affecting the system.
HYDRODUCT(r) 220
HYDRODUCT(r) 220 is an easy-to-install, preformed drainage composite with a hollow studded core and a high-performance geotextile covering. Designed as an integral part of GCP’s waterproofing systems, it collects moisture, deflects water flow and transports the infiltrated water to drainage outlets.
The drainage composite can be applied directly to BITUTHENE (r) or PROCOR (r) membranes in both horizontal and vertical applications, including green roofs. It protects the waterproofing membrane from damage by preventing direct contact with back-fill, construction materials or other trades and provides positive drainage to the system. It can also be used as a replacement for traditional perimeter drain tile to minimize hydrostatic pressure build-up on the concrete.
Whether it’s protecting membranes in the field or minimizing water penetration in the basement, HYDRODUCT(r) drainage products provide an important layer of protection for all buildings and structures. These simple-to-install solutions can be paired with a wide variety of GCP waterproofing membranes to help create a complete waterproofing system that is sure to stand the test of time.
HYDRODUCT(r) drain-age composites are installed by loosely folding them over the completed waterproofing membrane and tape or adhere 3 in. (76 mm) of fabric overlap on the top and all butt end joints. Care must be taken to ensure that the drainage composite does not touch any membrane ribs or edges.
AQUADRAIN(tm) G25
AQUADRAIN(tm) G25 is the solution for (roof) terraces without a fall where water collects on the waterproofing. The 25 mm thick drainage sheet prevents hydrostatic pressure from forming on the waterproofing and protects against damage to the membrane due to stagnant water. The integrated special fleece also raises the waterproofing and reduces footfall noise.
CETCO’s state-of-the-art drainage composites have been used gabion mesh supplier on millions of square feet of foundation projects since 1987. They are designed to replace or complement traditional aggregate drainage backfill, saving you both time and money. Their consistent properties and application coverage ensure predictable drainage performance.
Suitable for a variety of applications, this height adjustable drainage mat is ideal for use in front of doors, floor-level window elements, and as the drainage line in parapets. The drain grate is easily cut on site and can be length adjusted as required. The patented integral dirt trap and wheel-friendly surface help to prevent fouling and the drain grate is wheelchair accessible.
