3D Drainage Geomat
Drainage geomat is a new type of geosynthetic material. It is a three dimension erosion controlling carpet that can strengthen the subsoil’s endurability to avoid landslide and erosion potential.
It takes compact 3D PP net as matrix, and compounds with non-woven fabric on one or both sides. It has good gas venting and water drainage function, and can retain silt and soil particles effectively.
1. Water Drainage
Drainage Geomats prevent damage and pollution caused by soil washed away during construction projects. The drainage mats consist of a bulk layer that separates the ground from concrete slabs and a landscape fabric on both sides which prevents dirt and materials from entering, but allows water to drain through. The drainage mat also helps to stabilize the surface of the ground and ensures a uniform plant growth. The drainage mat can also protect a spray-on waterproofing or dampproofing membrane from the harmful effects of hydrostatic pressure and raindrop impact.
3D composite drainage network is a new type of geosynthetics that uses a three-dimensional geonet core and needle punched non-woven geotextiles on both sides. The double-sided adhesive seepage geotextiles form a comprehensive performance of “filtration – drainage – ventilation – protection”. It can replace traditional sand and gravel and is widely used in road construction, railway, tunnel, underground structure drainage, and gardens and sports grounds drainage.
Existing urban drainage model analysis methods mainly use 2D charts and paper reports, which cause problems such as insufficient utilization of spatial information, weak coupling and analytical capacity of multi-source heterogeneous data, and poor human-computer interaction (Zhang et al., 2016). This study proposes a 3D dynamic visualization method of an urban drainage model (3DDVM-UDM) by coupling GIS technology with 3D visualization technology. Multiple model results under different rainfall return periods are synchronously and intuitively visualized in the pipe network entity models to help analyze the operation state of the drainage system.
2. Erosion Control
3D Drainage Geomat is a kind of 3D community structure made from high molecular synthetic material. It is loose and flexible in texture,and leaves 90% space to fill earth, sand and stones. It can protect soil surface and let plants grow comfortably. After growing, it can let mat, grass and earth be combined collectively firmly, so that a layer of solid green composite protecting layer will be formed.
It prevents soil erosion by raindrops, run off and wind erosion during vegetation establishment. It can greatly reduce the pore water pressure, self-gravity and shear force of the slope soil, and improve its stability and erosion resistance. 3. Water Filtration
Drainage geomat is a bulk layer serving as a separation and drainage layer. Its 3D Drainage Geomat wide strands have a certain direction, which makes it possible to carry out directional drainage and prevent soil particles from being carried away. It is also able to protect against erosion and strengthen slopes.
The three-dimensional composite drainage geonet is a new type of material that is used for landfills, railway gabion basket manufacturers and tunnel drainage, and for replacement of traditional gravel sand. Its core consists of a three-dimensional geonet with needle punched non-woven geotextiles on both sides, which is characterized by its “filtration – drainage – ventilation” overall performance and can replace the traditional sand and gravel layer.
It takes compact 3D PP (or PE) net as matrix and compounds it with white color non-woven needle-punched polypropylene on one side, having a density of 250 g/m2. Its structure provides good gas venting, water drainage, and can retain silt and soil particles effectively. This allows the grass and other plants to grow easily and uniformly on it, protecting the ground surface against wind erosion.
4. Strengthening Slopes
3D vegetation geonet slope protection is a new technology that uses the natural growth ability of plants to strengthen the slopes. Workers cover the surface soil of the slope with a layer of geosynthetic engineering material and plant a variety of plants according to certain combinations and spacing. The plants will form twisted roots and branches to reinforce the soil and prevent erosion.
Non vegetated slopes easily erode, which can cause damage and pollution to the water flow. The erosion is caused by raindrops, run off and wind. The 3D drainage geomat stops erosion by fixing the soil and preventing rainwater rushing away. It is also a good choice for the protection of slopes and embankments of rivers, canals, lakes and ponds.
The 3D drainage geomat is made from a high molecular synthetic material. Its netting structure leaves 90% space to fill in earth, sand and stones. It also enables the grass to grow comfortably, creating a strong green composite protective layer. It can replace concrete, asphalt and riprap for slope protection. It is easy to install and can be used in any climate.
5. Greening Area
